SIERRA NEVADA, FOTOGRAFÍA Y NATURALEZA ESPECTACULAR / SIERRA NEVADA, NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY AND SPECTACULAR
estupenda compañía de los/as montañeros/as valientes Leonardo Ruiz Platt y
Marta Mancebo Cañadas.
Southern Photographers, ya habíamos estado antes y
volveremos otras tantas sin dudarlo,
mientras el cuerpo aguante y nuestra cabeza siga siendo inquieta,
divertida y rebelde. Igual que los niños buenos…

There are
sites that are willing to be visited over and over again, as if they were a
prescribed itinerary on your travel agenda, a fixed map recurring pleasantly by
its continuous change. They are places that take care of you, have something
special to attract you, you challenge each other for the next visit because you
know that if you come back, you'll find something new or you will be very
different since the seasons of the year will do its work.
One of
these amazing environments is Sierra Nevada (Granada, Spain), an adventure for
those who say by far "that ride is very long and dangerous" and a
lovely training for experts in climbing that scale 8,000 meters above sea level
in other parts of our planet. Either way, its mountains are serious and also
embody the idea of the unknown.
Preparing
for your visit is already an disturbing dream. You do a whole list of things
that you think that you may need at 3,000 meters of altitude. You take the
essential almost like a strict diet weight control, think of which will pass,
you put in the worst but also the best, look at the time many times and through
various channels, remember the advice of the treacherous mountain, not
forecasted storms, yours you warn of its dangers, appear some fears because one
recognizes that it is not their usual habitat the physicist you respond or
not?, ask yourself if you can get to the goal and all together, and so many
things that it seems that the trip begins long before...
Sierra
Nevada is the roof of Andalusia, in the Iberian peninsula and the mountain
massif of highest altitude of all Western Europe, after the Alps. It is the
only place in the Andalusian region where winter temperatures can reach 20
degrees below zero parts, but it offers a great climatic diversity due to the
topographic complexity of their land. In short, everything an eden and at the
same time a challenge reaching the end of their paths.
It has all
kinds of landforms that make it indispensable for nature photography. Water is
found in narrow rivers that are scattered throughout the province, gaps in the
ice age, today very quiet, where you can even see small rubble glacier, typical
of the most extreme latitudes. There are waterfalls with perfect silhouettes
produced by melting and that this snow it this year has been subdued, as if it
were a fine white skin. It has tunnels of water you feel under your feet and
which reach up to the bowels of the Earth. It has beautiful mountains for the
bravest and other more plain to those who do not trust. In summer, you can walk
over its snows and winter need preparation, soul and thinking. Account with
"U"-shaped valleys which appear only in dreams by its untamed beauty,
native and varied flora and fauna that you can't find anywhere else. Also,
stepping on its soil, are closer to the stars and the milky way, and much
more... you need to see and feel.
Precisely,
when one gets to take the dimension of its corners, they are like goals full
satisfaction by the effort of reaching your goal. It is your small adventurous
cruise, wishing to reach the end of the route, and during the walk, you imagine
continuously: what will I find?, what is there?, how I'll be me and my
friends?, you will miss much?, the place will we host?... and other
far-reaching and real issues as a result of the helplessness and the power of
the mountains, always full of mysteries, because you never know what you may
find yourself in it.
Once there,
in the place you want to photography, you feel very tiny and at the same time
immensely, and then we behave like restless children. We want all see, and it
doesn't matter weather that makes the cold that we move on, fog that you lost
and you need to go get you heroes, wind that does not let you sleep, or your
temporary shelter is full of water by torrential rain that night, and your
friend with every reason in the world , you say: "neither an output with
this rag you call tent". Of that lesson of height, promise to change it so
we can rest and the next day does not appear the frost on our bones, or avoiding
expressions like "this thing is dripping floor... what?".
Southern
Photographers, these children happy that they go in search of the good things,
went to Sierra Nevada on April 25 with the great company of the / RFK
mountaineers brave Leonardo Ruiz Platt y Marta Mancebo Cañadas.
Southern
Photographers, had already been before and will return many others without
hesitation, while drop and our heads are still restless, fun and rebellious. Just
like the good children...
